I am so excited to announce that I have verbally committed to Mizzou! I met today with the coaches and team and just knew it was right! I'm a Tiger! Hear me roar!
I cannot wait to compete this routine!
New workout videos posted.
I love high school! Teachers are great and the subjects are cool. Training is going well. Really enjoying the new skills I'm working. Getting my mojo back on beam. Going to visit some colleges this Fall - can't wait. It's just all around good.
First day of High School Monday morning! Can't wait!
After a week soaking up the sun and enjoying all the fun of Dauphin Island, Lark is ready to head back into the gym. Unfortunately, she is not training for Classics and Visas. She gave us a scare by hyper-extending both knees in vault warm-up at the qualifier. We are so grateful that she was not seriously injured. However, her knees were too sore to compete the routines she had planned for that day. The situation was terribly frustrating and disappointing for her and for Marcus. All things happen for a reason though. The Good Lord has his ...
OK - so we haven't been blogging. Got busy with Lark's brother who recently graduated from high school! Lark is busy training hard for the July 3rd Qualifier. She is putting in new skills on 3 of 4 events (her FX was already pretty packed). We are crossing our fingers - with this being her first stab at Elite optionals and her only opportunity to qualify. Her fx and bb skills have always been very strong, but she has worked hard to add a release to UB and a bigger V. Our hopes are high, but we know she is young and will have more opportunities ...
Another state meet in the books! Lark's mission was accomplished - qualifying to the Regional Champions with a 36.85. And...she was first on bars! She ended up 6th AA and is looking forward to Albuquerque. I love the Texas State meets. There is something about competing to be the pride of Texas that brings out the best. Always a great meet to watch. Robin
Just found Lark listed in the top 100 Level 10 AA's for 2010! Promise to upload more videos as soon as our technical difficulties are cleared up.
Well, Lark put 4 great routines together and won the AA with a 37.75! She started on vault and put up a 9.5. From there, she was on a roll. Bars went great (only a small hop on the dismt) for a 9.45. She was solid on beam but only had a9.225. I think there may be some flaw in the composition of her routine that is holding the score down. Oh well, I'm sure she and her coaches will get that worked out. She finished up with a FX routine that she was not about to give up on. She scared us by punching off the 4 incher for her last pass (double pike)...
